This week, Rubber Lips PR attended the Scottish Social Media & Marketing Show at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.
The day featured a full schedule of talks and presentations by industry experts on the various topics surrounding the world of social media, including the introduction of Periscope, effective use of Facebook Pages and putting Pinterest to use for your business. The event was a fantastic opportunity to put a face to the tweeters and have a chat in person!
First up, Phil Search gave us his 7 tips on social engagement, advising social media users to ‘join the conversation’ and add value to discussions, rather than hard sell what you do. Stand up comedian, Ross Teddy Craig talked through his experiences writing for different audiences throughout his career, and how to adapt current topics to your advantage.
Fin Wycherley’s presentation on staying competitive on Social Media was enagaging and insightful and it was great to hear her examples of working with clients around the world to develop Social Media strategies.
Speed networking sessions were available for those brave enough to give it a go, and more casual networking happened naturally throughout the day at the various social areas and stands.
To wrap up the day, James Lane talked over Instagram and Pinterest and revealed his top tips for making them work for business. You can follow Rubber Lips on Instagram @rubberlipspr where we will be posting photos of our current projects, and probably a few of Crombie as well!
