“Age and provenance are a key part of the whisky’s story and so important, especially in collectable bottles. Gleann Mor identifies these vital pieces of information on the labels of all their bottlings” says Andrew Forrester, Whisky Specialist and Consultant Brand Director.
And what better way to mark the occasion than a 14 year old Single Malt; one of only 182 bottles drawn from a first fill Olorosso sherry cask and available, on the Gleann Mor Whisky Co. website to the delectation of whisky savants worldwide
For Gleann Mor Whisky has now joined forces with Dr.A.M. Forrester (yes, there is a ‘dram’ in there), who shall act as Brand Director and advocate of all things ‘Rare Find’, to the independent bottler of single malt, grain and blended whiskies.
A strong history in the world of malts, Andrew worked for almost 6 years as the face of Balvenie, where he held the role of ‘Brand Ambassador’; his name not only wildly and amusingly apt for the industry but recognized within scotch whisky circles worldwide.
“I am enjoying enormously the sourcing and sampling of a range of whisky for Gleann Mor. We secure “Rare Finds’ from the warehouses of Scotland to bring old and highly prized whiskies to the enthusiast”.
A graduate in Plant Molecular Biology, having gained his PhD at The University of York, Andrew’s transition into Whisky began with a job in his local Oddbins, when a random Whisky Tasting event, piqued his interest.
And bespoke Tasting Events shall be one of the many aspects of the business in which Andrew shall be immersed at Gleann Mor.
“With Andrew’s knowledge and experience, Gleann Mor is looking forward to introducing our range of rare whiskies to collectors and connoisseurs, through new reveals, whisky lunches and tasting events,” says Director, Derek Mair, “we are excited to move the business forward and introduce our product to the worldwide whisky audience.”
